What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor Chemistry position at OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY INC?
The Oglethorpe University Chemistry Program is seeking adjunct instructors to teach General Chemistry I Lab during the Fall 2026 semester. The lab sections enroll no more than 16 students, so the learning environment is ideal for one-on-one faculty-student interactions. Applicants will be expected to foster an inclusive learning environment by engaging in and promoting diverse teaching, learning, and mentoring communities.
Laboratory courses meet for one three-hour period each week. The semester runs from August 24th to December 4th, with final exams in the following week. Final grades for the semester are due on Tuesday, December 15th. Qualifications:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field. Candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) will also be considered.
Compensation:
CHM-101L (laboratory course): $1650/section/semester
