Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in achieving greater independence and quality of life. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, five days a week.
Note: The client associated with this role has a G-tube. Experience with or willingness to be trained on G-tube care is preferred.
Pay: $17 (will increase after 90 days)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in their home or community setting
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Support individuals in engaging in recreational, social, and educational activities
- Encourage independence and advocate for the individual’s rights and choices
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and supervisors
- Perform basic G-tube care and feeding, as needed (training provided if necessary)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience as a DSP or in a caregiving role preferred
- Experience with G-tube care a plus, or willingness to be trained
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required
- Compassionate, reliable, and patient demeanor
