Position Summary

Reporting to Controls Engineer, the Electrician III will maintain, install, and repair electrical hardware systems, electronic controls, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Position Responsibilities

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of PLC programming and control logic.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Advanced knowledge and Troubleshoots skills
• Diagnose malfunctioning electrical equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures
• Replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
• Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, also position sensing devices.
• Diagnoses, repairs, or replacement of faulty electrical components, such as printed circuit boards.
• Replace electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
• Plans layouts and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical devices in buildings.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Uses of LOTO while working on equipment.
• Journeyman License preferred.
• Perform other mechanical and electrical duties as assigned.
• Welding skills preferred.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Must be working as an Electrician Il and must complete all training requirements or have equivalent experience from prior employment.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift License
• Electrical license or 2 years of schooling or equivalent experience
• 2 years of experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, is required. Ability to communicate with levels across the organization will be required.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
