Compensation: Pay dependent on experience (DOE)Job Summary Offshore Energy Services is seeking a dedicated, safety-minded Experienced Oilfield Shop Hand to join our team in Weatherford. You will handle the assembly, testing, maintenance, and transport preparation of critical casing equipment. This specialized role focuses heavily on maintaining, testing, and repairing hydraulic and mechanical Casing Running Tools (CRTs) alongside traditional hydraulic power tongs.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

• Refurbishment & Spray Painting: Prep equipment surfaces and operate a paint gun to apply uniform coats of primer and paint, protecting tools against corrosion.
• Tool Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean outbound and inbound tools using a commercial power washer to remove grease, mud, and debris.
• Greasing & Lubrication: Regularly grease, lubricate, and service moving parts, bearings, and hydraulic components on casing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Pre-Job Planning: Review job cards to identify tool requirements, perform precise pre-job equipment measurements, and accurately complete all required pre-job paperwork.
• CRT Testing and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, teardown, visual inspection, and functional testing on both hydraulic and mechanical Casing Running Tools (CRTs) to ensure downhole reliability.
• Tong Testing and Repair: Inspect, service, and test mechanical/hydraulic power tongs, backup tongs, and torque monitoring systems.
• Tool Preparation & Assembly: Correctly assemble oilfield casing equipment per job sheets and verify that all finished assemblies meet applicable customer specifications.
• Testing & Documentation: Execute and record all functional, pressure, and torque testing required for outbound tools.
• Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and maneuver heavy oilfield equipment for transport using overhead hoists and forklift.
• Equipment Inspection: Check inbound and outbound equipment to identify errors, damage, wear, or defects (such as worn dies, seals, or structural fatigue).
• Safety & Housekeeping: Ensure work areas stay clean, hazards are immediately addressed, and all operations follow company safety standards. Use appropriate PPE at all times.
• Communication: Maintain clear daily communication regarding workflow and shop activities with crew members, supervisors, and dispatch.

Job Requirements

• Experience: 6 months of experience working on casing equipment (such as tongs or CRTs) in a shop environment is preferred.
• Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Location: Must reside within a 1-hour driving radius of Weatherford, OK.
• Transport & Licenses: Must have reliable personal transportation. A valid driver’s license and a secondary form of identification are preferred.
• Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Apparel: Must possess personal safety-toe boots (Offshore Energy Services will provide shop uniform).

• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to solve mechanical/hydraulic problems, think critically, and perform repetitive shop tasks accurately over extended periods.
• Precision: High attention to detail when taking tool measurements and filling out specialized paperwork.
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with internal shop staff and management.
• Technical Reading: Ability to read, interpret, and follow procedures, customer job cards, and safety materials.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Screening: Must successfully pass a pre-employment urinalysis drug screening.
• Lifting: Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 80 pounds; frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility: Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist.
• Sensory: Strong hand-eye coordination, depth perception, color definition, and the ability to wear respiratory protection if required.
• Work Environment: Frequent exposure to extreme heat, cold, and indoor noise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
