Offit Kurman is an AmLaw 200 law firm seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to support their Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Credit team in downtown Los Angeles. The ideal candidate for this role is a litigation-focused LAA with strong experience in California state court filings (especially Los Angeles Superior Court), federal e-filing (PACER/CM-ECF), and trial preparation experience. While bankruptcy experience is a plus, the team is specifically focused on finding someone with a strong litigation background.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex calendars, court deadlines, and filings
- Prepare, format, and proofread litigation and bankruptcy documents
- Handle state (CA) and federal (PACER) filings, ensuring compliance with court rules
- Support trial preparation (exhibits, binders, deposition materials)
- Assist with receivership matters and case tracking
- Maintain organized case files and manage client/matter intake
- Communicate with clients, courts, and internal teams
Qualifications
- 5 years of legal administrative experience within a law firm
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal systems
- Strong litigation experience, including California state court filings (LA Superior Court preferred)
- Experience with PACER/CM-ECF
- Trial prep experience required; receivership experience a plus
- Exposure to bankruptcy litigation (Ch. 11 preferred)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication and client service skills
