Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer with a strong background in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial building systems. This position requires hands-on mechanical experience and the ability to independently identify problems, perform repairs, and maintain reliable building operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial building systems and equipment.
· Work with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, air-handling units (AHUs), VAV systems, and associated HVAC equipment.
· Monitor and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
· Diagnose and resolve HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and general electrical issues.
· Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify potential problems before equipment failures occur.
· Respond to tenant comfort concerns and building service requests.
· Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and service.
· Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment records.
· Follow established safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Required Qualifications
· Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC and mechanical systems in a commercial, institutional, industrial, or other large facility.
· Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a building engineering team.
Preferred Experience
· Experience with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, VAV systems, and BAS controls.
· HVAC, electrical, stationary engineer, or other relevant trade certifications are a plus.
Compensation
$35.00-$42.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
