Supervised by: Fredericksburg Regional Programs Coordinator

GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:

The Rappahannock Area Office on Youth is seeking employees who are looking for a job that provides an opportunity to make a difference in a young person’s day. The Community Service
Program Facilitator engages, supervises and participates in Community Service Projects with Court involved youth. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience working with youth, may be looking for an opportunity to have a positive impact while earning extra income. Occasional manual labor will be involved while supervising youth.

This is a part time position with a commitment of two Saturdays per month throughout the year. Saturday shifts are 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. A 2 hour shift is also available in addition on Tuesday evenings.

The Community Service Program Monitor primarily engages with youth while supervising the work of up to twelve participants on roadside cleaning projects and other special projects for community partners. The Facilitator/Monitor is responsible for recognizing the needs of participants and ensuring effective behavior management principles and practices are used when working with all participants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or a High School
Diploma with 2 years’ experience working with youth.
