Assist in providing therapeutic activities and support to patients under the direction of the Therapeutic Program Director. The Activity Aide observes and influences the patient’s behavior and communication while interacting with them as well as garnering their trust. Encourages patients to participate in social, recreational, and other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills and develop social and therapeutic relationships. Good communication and documentation skills are required for this position. Supervise/monitor patients to and from treatment areas and in special care areas. Assist mall staff with implementing therapeutic treatment plans and activities as assigned. Act as liaison between mall services staff and the treatment teams. Monitors and documents patient participation in activities with completion of nonattendance alternatives and related documentation. Accurate completion of assigned reports/documentation. Participate in maintenance of a clean, orderly, and safe environment; reports need for repair to Maintenance. Follows all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff. All other related duties assigned. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth by agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check.
