What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Social Worker position at Office of Shared Administration (WV)?

Under the supervision of the program director for the Transitional Living Facility the social worker will provide clinical functions which include admission and discharge functions, assessments, case management duties, consultation, implementation of treatment programs, implementations of treatment plan assignments, linkage with community resources to ensure consumers meet targeted treatment and community integration goals. Performs related duties as required. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Applicants selected for employment must complete a chemical urinalysis & breath analysis drug screening test. Applicant must successfully complete a background check. All employees are subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in bureau and agency policies. This is a tobacco free facility.

Education (Must qualify based on one of the following):

Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, or Criminal Justice from an accredited college or university. Please provide documentation of the approval with your application.
Bachelor's degree in a related field, as determined and approved by the West Virginia Board of Social Work. Please provide documentation of the approval with your application.

Licensure/Certification

(Must qualify based on one of the following):

Applicants selected for this classification must obtain a Social Work License or Temporary Social Work License prior to beginning employment.
Provide a valid eligibility determination from the West Virginia Board of Social Work for a Provisional Social Work License.

None.

Provisional License Note: Individuals must first be determined eligible for a Provisional License and should request an Eligibility Application. An eligibility determination is not a license but indicates to potential employers that the individual is eligible for a Provisional License if hired. Upon hiring, the individual must obtain an approved licensing supervisor and return the Provisional License Agreement to the Board. After approval and payment of the license fee, the individual may be issued a Provisional License. William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital, located in Weston, West Virginia, is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital’s own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.

Salary : $44,850 - $74,750
