What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Technician position at Office of Shared Administration (WV)?
This position will provide advanced EKG monitoring of patient status through assessment of ECG strips and arrhythmia interpretation. Possess troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem. Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during code, continuous ECG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interval measurements. Mandatory overtime is an essential job function of this position. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Welch Community Hospital is a tobacco free facility.
Education: | Completion of an ECG/EKG or Telemetry Technician training program. |
Licensure/Certifications: | Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. |
Experience: | One (1) year of full-time or part-time paid experience in a telemetry, cardiac monitoring, or similar clinical position within a hospital or other healthcare setting. |
Salary : $34,500 - $57,500
