What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services District Manager position at Office of Shared Administration (WV)?
Under general supervision, the Social Services District Manager will perform complex administrative and professional work by planning, implementing, directing, and reviewing programs, activities and operations within the Barbour, Preston, and Taylor county's child welfare units of CPS and Youth Services. Responsibilities include planning, policy development, direction, coordination, and administration of the operation of multiple units within CPS and Youth Services. Acts as a liaison within Bureau for Social Services with the state and federal partners to facilitate problem resolution of complex matters. Collaborate with community partners, outside agencies, and service providers to assist in services provided to clients. Position located in Barbour, Preston or Taylor County. Employee must be willing to travel to all three offices within all the district. Employee is subject to being on-call during non-business hours and must be available with access to a telephone.
Applicants must possess a valid WV driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Applicants also must have strong communication skills, both oral and written, and maintain detailed records and extensive documentation. Frequent travel may be required. Successful completion of a background check is required for employment.
Please note: Applicants hired into this classification must obtain licensure as a Social Worker from the West Virginia Board of Social Work within a timeframe set by the appointing agency. Until licensure is obtained, they may not perform duties that require a licensed social worker under state law or Board regulation.
