The Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, a high-performing school district located 12 miles southwest of Philadelphia, is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources.
Serving grades Kindergarten through 12 with an enrollment of approximately 3,500 students and 500 staff, the Director is responsible for the District’s human resources functions, including the recruitment, onboarding, induction, and retention of a diverse work force, the implementation of District policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and negotiation and implementation of all collective bargaining agreements, compensation plans, benefits plans, and labor agreements.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated problem solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. Experience in the Human Resources and/or Education Field, preferably in the public sector, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Salary commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across all departments and employee groups. Teachers and support staff are unionized through PSEA. Bus drivers and bus aides are unionized through Teamsters. The position requires regular interaction with the leadership of these groups to ensure all aspects of their collective bargaining agreements are being respected.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of administrative experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources is preferred.
Experience with labor relations and a unionized workforce.
Experience administering medical and prescription benefits plans is preferred.
Qualifications:
Doctorate is preferred but not required.
A valid PA Department of Education Administrative Certificate is preferred.
Other Information:
This position is an individual contract with "ride along" language to the Act 93 Compensation Plan.
This 12-month position will start on July 1, 2026.
