This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Field Policy and Management.

Qualifications:

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- Leading, directing, or managing programs that provide affordable housing, OR community development OR otherwise improve the conditions of persons living in poverty; AND
- Managing administrative functions for a program site or office such as training, financial management, facilities, property management, health and safety, or emergency preparedness; AND
- Collaborating with high-level Federal, State, and Local officials and organizations to effectively promote your program's goals and objectives.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

This position is located in the Office of Field Policy and Management (FPM). FPM supports 64 offices across the field and provides organizational leadership to Regional and Field Office Directors. The Office develops mechanisms which ensure critical field program delivery issues are addressed; assess program impacts and customer service at the local level; and provide operational feedback designed to constructively influence program design and Departmental policy-making.


As a Field Office Director, you will:
  • Be responsible for strategic leadership, long-range planning, high-level decision-making, and comprehensive resource management to further HUD's mission and assure the local office is aligned with Departmental strategic plans and protocols.
  • Establish and maintain highly effective internal and interagency partnerships with senior-level counterparts within HUD, including multiple program office directors, as well as with high-ranking officials across Federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Management Action Plan and related goals, and a variety of programs, projects and initiatives.
  • Exercise delegated authority across the full range of human capital, financial, technological, and administrative management functions for a large, multifaceted field office.

Salary : $147,945
