To qualify for this position of Operations Coordinator you must meet the qualification requirements listed below by the closing of this announcement:

For GS-09: Specialized Experience: Your resume must detail at least one year of specialized experience which includes: Providing and coordinating a variety of complex legal support and administrative duties, using database systems and file management, and providing technical advice and guidance to a team of support staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education Substitution: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as a business or management degree.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education: Options for qualifying based on a combination are identified in the online questions.
NOTE: If qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.

Time in Grade Requirement for GS -09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Responsibilities:

As an Operations Coordinator, you will:

  • Serve as the focal point for coordinating and administratively handling more complex or unique calls and/or correspondence concerning the legal support work provided to the different functional areas.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve difficult issues or problems encountered by the support staff regarding court procedures and court documentation. Alert legal staff as to the nature of problem(s) and provide recommendations for resolving proceduralissues/concerns.
  • Monitor workflows through the office and the staff's efficiency in achieving their work goals, perform analysis, and recommend viable solutions such as workload redistribution and revised work processes and procedures to resolve problems of a procedural nature.
  • Monitor the work of the legal assistants in the office to serve, as needed, as a back-up so that information is being properly inputted into office related systems and that reports are correctly and timely generated and distributed.
  • Analyzes new directives, guidelines, and procedural changes received from business unit headquarters and courts.
  • Provides administrative oversight and accountability for the accuracy of data and records that are inputted in the automated systems.
  • Coordinate the overall mail operation of the Office. Review incoming mail and, as appropriate, establish administrative controls on certain items.

  • The salary range indicated in this announcement covers multiple locality areas. Your salary will be adjusted based on the post of duty for which you are selected.

The Jacksonville/Tampa and Philadelphia/Pittsburgh offices operate as Cluster Chief Counsel Offices. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing one of these clusters.
