Director of Student Success and Partnerships

The Director of Student Success and Partnerships is the person who connects the dots across guidance, academics, attendance, and discipline to make sure every student at West Catholic is known, supported, and accountable. The goal is not to add another layer of management; it's to make our systems work together, so students don’t fall through the cracks and staff aren’t working in silos. Through effective coordination, collaboration, and communication, the Director works to ensure that each student receives timely and appropriate interventions ensuring greater student support and increased student retention.

Over the past few years, we’ve added new academic programs, support staff, and specialized positions to better serve students. That growth has been healthy and necessary, but our internal systems haven’t always kept pace with it. As we add people and programs, the work of coordination becomes even more important. We now have more hands helping students, but without better structures and collaboration, it’s easy for efforts to overlap or gaps to appear. The Director of Student Success and Partnerships is a response to that reality, someone whose focus is on building the connectivity between people and systems so our students and families receive the holistic support they need.

The position will report to the Principal and will be a 12-month position.

What This Role Does

  • Leads the “Student Success Team” that meets regularly to review attendance, grades, behavior, and engagement, identifying students who need extra support before problems get big.
  • Tighten communication by ensuring that guidance, teachers, and administrators are all on the same page, with clear next steps and consistent follow-up.
  • Supports academic growth by working with counselors, teachers, the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs and the academic support team to make sure academic struggles are identified early and addressed with the right mix of tutoring, mentoring, and family communication.
  • Track engagement by monitoring attendance, after-school involvement, and athletics to understand which students are deeply connected to school life and which ones are starting to drift.
  • Organize grade level meetings to ensure collaboration and communication.
  • Building partnerships that connect with universities, community organizations, and mission-aligned agencies to bring in additional support and opportunities for students and families.
  • Building culture by helping adults work together across departments to create consistency, trust, and a shared sense of ownership for every student’s growth.
  • As families deal with emergencies, ensure communication is appropriately delivered to relevant parties to ensure a holistic approach.
