Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance to enhance their shopping experience
- Educate customers on product features, effects, and proper usage through engaging product demos and demonstrations
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending complementary items to maximize satisfaction and sales
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through merchandising, stocking, and regular stock checks
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and store policies during sales and customer interactions
- Handle customer inquiries professionally via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Assist with visual merchandising to create appealing displays that highlight featured products
- Support supervising staff by providing guidance on sales techniques and customer service standards when needed
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably within a grocery store or similar retail environment
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for cash handling and transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse customers
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve our multicultural clientele better
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous
- Knowledge of cannabis products, including product demos, is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills essential for building lasting relationships
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cash handling and inventory management
- A proactive attitude towards merchandising, stocking, and maintaining store presentation standards
