SRS has an immediate opening for an Unexploded Ordnance Technician I (UXO I).
Must meet the minimum qualifications for personnel conducting Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) Related Activities in accordance with the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board Technical Paper 18 (DDESB TP-18, [DoD, 2020]).
Under The Supervision Of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Qualified Personnel (DoD, 2020), Will Do And/or Assist In The Following “Project Specific” Activities

Under The Supervision Of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Qualified Personnel (DoD, 2020), Will Do And/or Assist In The Following “Project Specific” Activities
- Comply with Site-Specific Safety and Health Plan (SSHP), Work Plan (WP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA), and any instructions/directions provided by supervisor.
- Assist UXO Qualified Personnel in performing searches for, and in completing multiple inspections of Range Related Debris (RRD) and Munitions Debris (MD) as part of Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) Management activities.
- Assist UXO Qualified Personnel in performing mechanical processing and limited manual processing of MPPEH and Material Documented as Safe (MDAS) in and around the Range Holding Area (RHA).
- Safely operate motor vehicles, earth moving machinery (EMM), mechanized equipment, and hand tools in accordance with specific training, individual qualifications, and written authorization.
- Assist in the mechanical loading of MDAS into roll-off containers and over the road truck/trailers.
- Assist UXO Qualified Personnel with daily inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and adjustments to tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Participating in daily worksite cleaning and securing of tools, equipment, and machinery.
