Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation activities including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports related to transportation performance and costs.
- Support compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to meet delivery expectations.
- Help identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Effective participation in team environment, with both external and internal teammates.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
- Internship or prior experience in logistics or transportation (even if informal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required; experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
- Experience with freight carriers, shipping documentation, and routing.
- Customer service experience.
- Office-based with occasional visits to warehouse or shipping locations.
- May require flexible hours depending on shipment schedules.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
