Join Our Culinary Leadership Team – Where Passion Meets Flavor on Leech Lake!

Are you an experienced kitchen leader who thrives in a fast-paced culinary environment? We’re seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead and support our kitchen team at a premier resort on beautiful Leech Lake. In this role, you’ll combine your passion for high-quality food with strong leadership, organization, and a collaborative spirit to ensure exceptional dining experiences every day.

This is a seasonal position running from May through October, with the opportunity to transition into a year-round role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in food preparation while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations to support an efficient workflow and consistent food quality.
  • Maintain food, supply, and equipment inventory levels within budget guidelines.
  • Oversee sanitation, food safety, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff; provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Create daily specials and support menu execution.
  • Manage staff scheduling to align with business needs and labor targets.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and support service for special events and off-site functions.

Requirements

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of related culinary or kitchen leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and safe kitchen operations.
  • Experience operating, cleaning, and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to manage priorities, plan work, and use time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and adaptable, with the ability to develop daily specials and menu execution.
  • Calm, professional approach to high-stress situations and guest concerns.
  • Strong communication skills for staff leadership, guest interaction, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrates reliable attendance, punctuality, and ethical behavior.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, including email, scheduling tools, and spreadsheets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands, hear, talk and reach. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work at a fast pace for extended periods of time in a high-pressure environment.
