What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Odyssey Performance Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapist
Location: Emeryville, CA | Type: Full-Time, In-Person
About Odyssey
Odyssey Performance Physical Therapy is a movement and wellness hub built in and for Oakland’s diverse, vibrant community. We believe movement is more than exercise — it’s how people engage with life, find belonging, and stay healthy for the long haul.
Founded in January 2026, we’re creating a clinic where clients move, learn, and express themselves, and where clinicians do work they’re genuinely proud of, with people they actually like. We run 1-on-1, 60-minute sessions with no insurance restrictions, because we refuse to let billing codes dictate what good care looks like.
Our state-of-the-art facility opens in Emeryville in Summer 2026. Learn more at odyssey-pt.com.
Values
Do It Right
We don’t rush. We don’t cut corners. We don’t sacrifice quality care for growth.
Meet People Where They’re At
Every body, every story, every goal is different. We listen, adapt, and tailor care that fits real life.
Move Together
Movement connects us. Healing, performance, and growth happen best in community, whether on the floor, in classes, or out in life.
Work Together
We share knowledge, give and receive feedback, and work toward shared goals. We are not just ships passing in the night and grow as a team and as individuals.
Build What Doesn’t Exist Yet
We started Odyssey to create something different, an Oakland-born clinic that reflects the creativity, diversity, and potential of our city.
We Stand Against…
Telling people to stop moving.
We don’t believe in “just rest” or “stop running.” Movement is part of the solution, not the problem. Our job is to help you keep you moving in a safe, pain-free way.
Over-cueing and over-controlling movement.
Everyone’s body moves a little differently, and that is how it should be. We guide but we don’t “over-cook” it.
Quick fixes that don’t stick.
We don’t chase temporary relief or passive care. We give you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to manage your body long-term and keep improving on your own.
Clinical or impersonal care.
You should feel welcome here. We’re honored that you’ve chosen us to support you in healing and moving better and great care starts with great service.
