The job scope of the Metal Finisher within Odyssey Medical Technologies will include, but is not limited to the following duties: Metal Finisher
Position Description
SUMMARY: A Metal Finisher buffs, grinds, files or sands surfaces of metal items manufactured by the Odyssey Medical Technical Services Department, using hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of metal finishing techniques: Examines and feels surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents, scratches, or breaks in metal. Smoothes surface of item to specified finish using powered polishing wheel. A Metal Finisher must comprehend blueprint and job specifications, as well as being familiar with precision gauging such as micrometers and calipers.
Position Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Basic operations of assigned machines
· Inspect components for nonconformities
· Perform approved Finishing tasks
· Halt production if nonconformity identified
· Learn Quality Controls and Quality System
· Learn concepts of metal finishing
· Work with minimal supervision
· Adhere to the Odyssey Medical Quality Policy
Basic Qualifications
Minimum education and experience: High School Diploma or GED Certificate
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in general metal finishing/state certified training
· Experience with an understanding of finishing, cleaning, passivating, is a plus
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
· Effective interaction with personnel within the organization
· Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and experience applying these skills to resolve technical problems
· Results oriented and self-starter

Note: Interview will require a basic test of operating selective Metal Finishing equipment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
