The Metal Finisher in a medical manufacturing environment is responsible for preparing and finishing various types of metal components used in medical implants and/or instruments. This role ensures all finished parts meet strict quality, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements, with a strong focus on patient safety, precision, and compliance with medical industry standards.Key Responsibilities:· Prepare metal components through cleaning, deburring, grinding, polishing, and surface conditioning· Perform medical-grade finishing processes such as passivation, electropolishing, per documented procedures· Follow controlled work instructions, specifications, and validated processes· Inspect finished components using visual and measurement tools to ensure compliance with drawings and quality standards· Accurately complete production records, travelers, and quality documentation to maintain full traceability· Maintain cleanliness standards, including cleanroom or controlled environment practices when required· Handle parts carefully to prevent contamination, damage, or mix-ups· Adhere to FDA regulations, GMP, ISO 13485, and company quality system requirements· Follow all safety, environmental, and chemical handling procedures· Support continuous improvement and corrective action efforts· Assist with routine equipment cleaning, calibration checks, and maintenanceQualifications:· High school diploma or equivalent required· Experience in metal finishing, medical device manufacturing, or regulated manufacturing preferred· Familiarity with GMP, ISO, or FDA-regulated environments a plus· Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications· Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy· Ability to work independently and as part of a team· Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights· Multitasking while maintaining Line Clearance per FDA standards· Must be open to workingWork Environment:· Medical manufacturing or cleanroom environment· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required· Exposure to chemicals and fine metal particles under controlled conditionsDesired / Preferred Qualifications:· Experience in general metal finishing; state-certified training preferred· Experience with or understanding of metal finishing processes, including cleaning and passivation, is a plus· Effective verbal and written communication skills· Ability to interact professionally and effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization· Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and experience applying these skills to resolve technical problems· Results oriented and self-starter Physical Job Requirements:PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
