The Role
Work Model: On-site
Work Schedule: Average of 40 hours per week, with scheduled overtime as needed. Must be flexible to work varying hours, including nights and weekends.
Travel Requirements: No overnight travel required

Summary / Primary Role
The Slitter Line Operator sets up, operates, and maintains slitting equipment to cut large rolls of material into specified widths while meeting quality, safety, and production requirements. The role also supports warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory organization, and the safe movement and packaging of steel coils using applicable material-handling equipment.
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a safety-focused, reliable operator with prior manufacturing or slitting-line experience who can operate production equipment, inspect materials, and support warehouse and shipping activities.
This is a safety-sensitive position. Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screen, which includes testing for THC in accordance with company policy, and a criminal background check. Odyssey’s drug-free workplace policy applies regardless of state or local laws on cannabis use.

What You’ll Do

- Slitting Operations & Quality
- Set up and operate slitting machinery; adjust knives, spacers, tension, and guides to meet job specifications.
- Monitor production, inspect finished material, record measurements and production data, perform routine maintenance, and report equipment issues.
- Warehouse & Material Handling
- Load and unload material using cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other equipment; safely organize inventory and package steel coils for shipment.
- Support inbound and outbound scanning, inspect shipments for damage, pull work orders, complete paperwork, and follow safe loading and unloading procedures.

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year of previous manufacturing or slitting-line experience required.
- No supervisory responsibilities; able to collaborate with supervisors, quality control, and other operators.
- Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes, track mobiles, and handheld RFID scanners preferred.
- Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, time management, initiative, reliability, and personal accountability.
- Experience in transportation or metals warehousing preferred
