About The Job
We are seeking a hands-on Dispatch Manager who combines strong operational execution with strategic insight. This role requires daily involvement in dispatching activities, while also overseeing the overall dispatch operation. You will be directly responsible for managing deliveries day-to-day, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and align dispatch operations with broader business objective.

This is an in-office role based 50% in Pearl City and 50% in Kapolei, HI.
As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Odyssey provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.
The base pay range for this position is: $88,500 - $130,000.00 plus Bonus potential

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily dispatch operations ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Use data and analytics to optimize routing, driver performance, and resource allocation.
- Identify and implement process improvements that drive cost savings and service excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, customer service, and sales) to streamline workflows.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track performance and guide decision-making.
- Evaluate and deploy new technologies to support dispatch operations.
- Mentor and develop dispatch staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Directly manage driver and dispatch team members, providing regular guidance and performance feedback.
- Anticipate potential disruptions and create contingency plans to maintain service levels.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.
Driver Management:
- Train and manage drivers, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor driver performance, including adherence to schedules, customer service, and safety standards.
- Address driver concerns and provides support to ensure job satisfaction and retention.
- Monitor and optimize dispatch workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Work closely with our customer service team to ensure customer's satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Work with senior management to develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Analyze operational data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues of the department ensuring minimal disruption to service.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions or emergencies.
- Ensure clear and effective communication within the dispatch team, driver fleet, and across other departments.
- Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance to senior management.
- Assist in the development and management of the dispatch and driver department budget.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 7 years of proven experience in dispatch or logistics management; island logistics experience is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and strong communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of port operations, driver management, and DOT safety and compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and logistics/dispatch software; experience with Truckmate & Sunsara is a plus.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- HazMat experience is preferred but not required.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on operational efficiency and long-term improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
