Job Title: Sr. Field Support Specialist
Location: Midland, Texas
Travel: Up to 75% (within a 3–4 hour driving radius; occasional overnight travel required)
Position Overview
Odyssey Information Services is seeking an experienced Sr. Field Support Specialist to join our client’s IT team in Midland, TX.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd- and 3rd-level IT support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize systems involving PCs, LAN/WAN, MPLS, VPNs, wireless, databases, and cloud-based solutions.
- Support and configure mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, tablets, Android devices, etc.).
- Work within an ITSM platform (Clientele and/or Remedy preferred) to document incidents, requests, and resolutions.
- Assist with SCADA, GIS, and Gas Measurement applications (preferred).
- Collaborate with business teams to align IT solutions with organizational strategies.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring minimal downtime and strong client satisfaction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, providing after-hours and holiday support as needed.
- Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications
- Education: College or technical school degree preferred.
- Instead of a degree, two or more relevant certifications are required:
- A , Net , Security , MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCSE, ITIL, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years of related IT field support experience required.
- Strong knowledge of networking, cloud solutions, and DOS-based applications.
- Experience supporting mobile device management (MDM); device must not be rooted or jailbroken.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a reliable, compatible mobile device (Apple or Android) that can be configured with the company’s MDM solution.
- Flexible work schedule; availability for after-hours support required.
- Travel expectation: Approximately 75% within a regional radius, with occasional overnight stays.
