What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist/ Buyer position at Odyssey Information Services?
Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders based on MRP requirements and maintain accurate updates.
- Develop sourcing strategies using spend analysis, market research, and category insights.
- Expedite materials, resolve shortages, and escalate critical supply risks with solutions.
- Lead supplier negotiations, including complex/global contracts.
- Process RMAs, identify recurring quality issues, and support corrective actions.
- Partner with Quality and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies, supplier variances, and document all PO changes.
- Implement ECN/ECO-driven changes and manage supplier transitions or EOL activities.
- Support supplier strategy execution and assist with special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of supply chain or manufacturing experience.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
- MRP knowledge and solid Excel/PowerPoint abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable steps.
- APICS certification preferred.
