We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical construction for ground-up data center projects. This position will represent the client onsite and manage the planning, coordination, installation, testing, and turnover of complex electrical and critical-power systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in large-scale electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, or data center environments and can effectively manage subcontractors, schedules, budgets, documentation, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical construction activities from preconstruction through commissioning and final closeout.
  • Oversee high-voltage, low-voltage, and critical-power scopes for ground-up data center projects.
  • Coordinate electrical subcontractors, vendors, engineers, commissioning teams, and other construction disciplines.
  • Manage the installation and integration of utility services, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, busway, grounding systems, and cabinet-level power.
  • Oversee power distribution from major infrastructure through PDUs and cabinet receptacles within the data hall.
  • Coordinate electrical work with cooling systems, controls, structured cabling, overhead supports, and equipment layouts.
  • Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, equipment submittals, and scopes of work.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, material deliveries, manpower, and installation sequencing.
  • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoicing, forecasting, and P&L tracking.
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with design requirements, applicable codes, safety standards, and client procedures.
  • Identify constructability issues, schedule conflicts, cost risks, and long-lead equipment concerns.
  • Support energization, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, turnover, and closeout.
  • Provide clear project updates and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and field personnel.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of electrical construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing large, technically complex electrical or MEP projects.
  • Data center or mission-critical construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, busway, grounding, and cabinet-level power.
  • Experience managing multiple electrical subcontractors and large field teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoicing, punch lists, and closeout.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
  • Strong client-facing communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel as project needs require.
