Position Summary

This position is responsible for the health and safety of all clients. This position assesses and prescribes appropriate medications as well as assess medical and psychiatric issues/ concerns and makes appropriate referrals. This position consults with treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues.

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization:  Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Behavioral Health and affiliated facilities.

Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.

Position Responsibilities

1. Working 40 plus hours a week
2. Maintaining a safe and secure environment
3. Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
4. Prescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorder
5. Routine checkups and Medication checks for clients in services
6. Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
7. Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimen
8. Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
9. Pre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
10. Order Lab work and UAs as needed
11. Complete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting client
12. Complete physical for every admitting client
13. Make referrals to specialist as needed
14. Order and administer Vivitrol as needed
15. Consult with the treatment team
16. Complete progress notes as needed
17. Support Nursing staff.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

A minimum of 2 years experience in a Detoxification and/or Residential Setting, preferably in substance abuse. Certified in the state of Pennsylvania as a CRNP or Physician’s Assistant

Additional Requirements

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients
3. Willingness to take calls during after hours days and times.
4. Other tasks and duties appropriate to the position and/or as assigned

Physical Requirements

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
2. Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies – may be very quiet to moderate
3. Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch
