What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Litigation Paralegal position at ODU Law Firm, LLC?
We’re excited to announce that we're hiring a full-time Experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. It's an exciting time at ODU Law Firm—a modern, fast-growing firm actively litigating both personal injury and employment law cases. Our mission is to maximize our clients' legal remedies, which often means going head-to-head, and deep into litigation, with insurance companies or corporate employers.
We are proud to be one of the fastest-growing law firms in Rhode Island, and we’re just getting started!
The ideal candidate will have at least 2–3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal at a law firm. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be ready to assist multiple attorneys across all phases of litigation. From discovery and motion practice to trial prep, your role will be key in building the value of each case. Our attorneys are hardworking, motivated, and focused on making a difference. We're looking for someone who can help them stay in that zone.
We care deeply about our clients and want them to have a humane experience that exceeds the norm. We're building our brand around that philosophy. At the same time, we respect that personal and family matters come first. Our goal is to be an employer that achieves great financial results while honoring those priorities.
Typical duties include assisting attorneys with: preparing and filing Complaints; drafting motions; preparing Plaintiff’s initial discovery (Interrogatories, RFPs, RFAs); responding to Defendant’s discovery; calendaring and scheduling; preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials; managing files; coordinating signatures; handling physical and electronic mail; and providing regular client updates.
Experience with legal research and litigation strategy is a plus. Many of our personal injury cases are in state court, and our employment cases often land in federal court. We're licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, so knowledge of those court rules is also a bonus.
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is also a plus.
We offer competitive salaries, health and retirement benefits, and other incentives. While we are set up to work flexibly, including remote work, this is an in-office position at our Cranston, RI location. Many of our attorneys work in office and would substantially benefit from an in-office paralegal.
If you’re an experienced litigation paralegal who’s passionate about both the business and the practice of law, we want to hear from you. Apply today!
