MAJOR FUNCTION
The Director of Business Development plans and directs all aspects of their regional organization’s business development objectives and initiatives. Responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities. Assists the Executive Vice President with financial assessments and opportunities and helps develop proposals for those identified. Develops and maintains client relationships.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Oversees the formation of business partnerships
- Lead regional/company’s planning execution of strategies to increase company growth
- Continually develop our companies name and build increasing awareness in the construction industry
- Participate in new business contract negotiations
- Monitoring competitors
- Corporate Operations Support
- Ensures business growth strategies are met and align with President and Vice President’s forecast
- Identifies potential business partners and negotiates agreements
- Assists in negotiating contracts
- Initiating proposals
- Closing deals
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
- Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities or partnerships
- Establish and maintain a positive presence in the marketplace
- Present reports, maintain prospects/ client database
- Perform special assignments and complete projects as needed
- Be an active and vocal advocate to identify and address client’s needs during pursuit, prior to the contract execution and through project completion
- Liaise with members of staff to ensure top level client experience in all cases of client interactions from follow up to completion of projects
- Become a subject matter expert on our business services, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news
- Active participant in the capture process and provides team input.
- Assists as needed with proposal preparation.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
- 4-year technical or business administration degree or equivalent and/or extensive experience in the development of business ventures
- 10 years of Experience in Business Development in related fields.
- Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and company operations required
- Extensive knowledge of financial operations, marketing, and employee relations required
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, strategic, leadership, communication, and analytical skills a necessity
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with vendors, management, and other coworkers, both individually and in front of a group
- Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential
- Sitting for extended periods of time is common
- Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents
- No heavy lifting is expected, though exertion of up to 25 pounds of force may occasionally be required
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculator, copiers, and fax machines
- Good reasoning ability is important, must be able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business
- Requires travel up to 50% a week
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting.

Salary : $170,000 - $220,000
