About the Role:

The Host Person plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression for guests and visitors. This position is responsible for managing the flow of guests, ensuring they are greeted warmly and directed appropriately to their destinations. The Host Person acts as a liaison between guests and staff, facilitating smooth communication and efficient service. By maintaining an organized and friendly environment, the Host Person contributes significantly to overall customer satisfaction and operational success. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining professionalism. Must have Food Handlers (FH) and/or TABC certificate at the date of hire. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic computer literacy for managing reservations and guest information.
• Ability to work flexible schedule, mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced, premier hospitality and service environment.
• Familiarity with reservation and point-of-sale systems.
• Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
• Certification in customer service or hospitality management.
• Demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
• Manage guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
• Provide accurate information about services, facilities, and directions within the establishment.
• Coordinate with other staff members to ensure guest needs are met in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception or hosting area.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
• Monitor guest flow and seating arrangements to optimize service delivery.
• Assist in managing reservations and waitlists as required.
• Participates in ongoing learning, education and on the job training.

Organizational skills are essential for managing guest flow, reservations, and seating arrangements efficiently. Problem-solving abilities help address guest concerns promptly and maintain a positive environment. Computer literacy supports the use of reservation systems and record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and smooth operations. Additionally, interpersonal skills foster teamwork and collaboration with other staff members to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
