Duties

• Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, and café drinks according to OddBird Café standards
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and speed of service
• Support daily bar operations and Front of House workflow
• Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready bar environment
• Communicate clearly with team members during service periods
• Assist guests with menu questions and offer thoughtful recommendations
• Help educate guests on how to experience OddBird Café (including drinks, food pairings, and seasonal offerings)
• Support restocking, prep, and overall bar organization
• Follow daily opening, closing, and operational procedures
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and hospitality-focused team environment
• Operate Toast POS system and manage cash handling, cashiering and basic math to ensure currect transactions.
• Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures

Qualifications

• Barista or café experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
• Interest in coffee and willingness to learn beverage skills and standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as needed
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order accuracy
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks involved in food preparation and serving
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
