OCWA – Central New York’s Water Authority is currently seeking candidates for a Pump Maintenance Worker to join the Operations Department.
The work involves responsibility for performing a variety of semi-skilled preventative maintenance and operation procedures for pumps and auxiliary equipment at pump stations and wastewater treatment plant facilities. An employee in this class has responsibility on an assigned shift, for maintaining the effective operation of pumps and auxiliary equipment through performance of tasks involved in a preventative maintenance program. Primary emphasis is given to procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of a variety of pumps, compressors and auxiliary equipment. Assignments and direct supervision are received orally from charge operators. Between rounds, work is performed in accordance with established procedures and telephone communication.
