Job Overview:
The Design Consultant Responsibilities include 3D scanning, designing contact lenses, consulting with practitioners about lens designs, correspondence with practitioners, and some office duties.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned):
Deliver product education and training to customers, maintaining a high level of expertise in EyePrint products.
Provide outstanding support by addressing technical, clinical, and product-related inquiries, including complex customer concerns.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of product hardware and software, including instrument installation and peripheral device integration.
Collaborate with research and clinical trial sites to collect data for designated research projects.
Represent the company at trade shows and educational events, conducting product demonstrations and presentations.
Collect customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market data to prepare actionable reports for Management, Sales, and Product Development teams.
Acquire and maintain a foundational knowledge of clinical medicine, patient evaluation practices, and how EyePrint products contribute to practice management.
Develop a working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and conditions treated by ophthalmologists and optometrists—particularly those related to ocular surgery, contact lens fitting, and diagnostic devices.
Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and product innovations through continuous learning.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, scientific, or related field preferred
Background in engineering, physics, mathematics, ocular medicine, or a related discipline
Experience with CAM/CAD and both 2D and 3D modeling
Technologically proficient and quick to learn new tools
Prior experience in optometry/optical settings or contact lens/lens consulting is a plus
Industry or clinical experience in ophthalmology or optometry is highly desirable
Demonstrates a positive attitude, is coachable, curious, and passionate about learning
Project management experience is a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including training and presentation capabilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Professional demeanor with strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle and maintain confidential company information with discretion

Schedule: 8am – 5pm MT (some flexibility)

Physical demands and work environment:
- The company provides a smoke and vape-free environment on company premises for its employees, customers, and visitors.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and listen to customers or colleagues, lift and move objects up to 50 lbs., and work with equipment that requires good vision and a steady hand.
- Ability to travel about 10% of time to tradeshows, clinical rotations and practice visits.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid motor vehicle license.
- Ability to travel internationally; obtaining a valid passport will be required.
