Location: Iowa (Hybrid – Local Only)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a COBOL Developer to support and enhance legacy mainframe applications in an insurance environment. The role involves coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining applications while collaborating with business users and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and debug COBOL programs
- Modify and enhance existing applications
- Prepare test data and document program logic
- Analyze system requirements and provide solutions
- Collaborate with users and provide status updates
- Support production systems and participate in on-call rotation
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in COBOL development
- Knowledge of SQL and database concepts
- Experience in insurance domain (preferred)
- Understanding of actuarial and accounting concepts
Nice to Have:
- Experience with LifePro system
- Mainframe environment exposure
