Job Overview
The Inventory Technician will manage and control the spare parts and raw materials inventory at the plant. Item creation, deletion and part location are solely in the purview of this role.
Responsibilities
- Manages spare parts program, including identification of critical inventory, optimal stock levels, min/max levels, and obsolete parts
- Conforms to SOX compliance for receipts, issues, inventory counts and adjustments, and reporting.
- Ensures all inventory parts are received in the ERP system, organizes the inventory locations, and performs counts and part issues to keep inventory quantities accurate to the on-hand availability.
- Ensures all parts that are consumed are issued out of the ERP system to the proper accounts.
- Controls warehouse traffic and limits access to those who are authorized to check-out parts.
- Keeps the warehouse in a clean and organized state.
- Issue out inventory to maintain accuracy and proper inventory levels.
- Conduct scheduled cycle counts
- Issue out supply inventory and convey accurate counts to the Purchasing Agent.
- Manage railcar receiving and ordering through Norfolk Southern and maintain railcar offloading documentation.
- Kits parts and assemblies for scheduled work and outages.
- Rotate motors stored in inventory.
- Maintain required department reports.
- Create assembly builds of finished goods and maintain accurate finished goods inventory counts.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Experience in Inventory and Purchasing is preferred
- Knowledge of production processes and equipment
- Knowledge of work order system, planning/scheduling, and storeroom.
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Proficient in MS office, CMMS, and ERP software. NetSuite a plus
Pay: $48,800.00 - $73,200.00 per year
