Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for legacy and new system components.
- Validate application and system performance against technical requirements.
- Design and implement automated test suites to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve software defects.
- Verify data integrity during database migrations and system updates.
- Conduct security and compliance testing to ensure adherence to government standards.
- Document and report test results, including detailed bug reports.
- Participate in code reviews from a quality assurance perspective.
- Assist in defining and improving QA processes and methodologies.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, Science, or related field
Experience
- Minimum of at least three (3) years of professional software testing experience
- Strong, demonstrated experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or equivalent)
- Experience writing test reports, test plans, and test procedures that capture all results for each test activity
- Experience testing web applications and database-driven systems
- Familiarity with government software development and testing processes
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with testing Oracle PL/SQL based systems
- Knowledge of NoSQL database testing
- Familiarity with testing in microservices-based environments
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks testing
- Experience developing automation for web application benchmarking and scripted testing
- Experience testing systems in a closed-network environment
- Experience using TestRail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically
- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks
- Good understanding of software development life cycle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Adaptability to changing technologies and requirements
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Utilization of Atlassian products including JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence
