Job SummaryThe Personnel Commission announces a PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment is only open to current classified employees. Probationary classified employees may apply but will not be able to be certified for final interview until probationary period is completed. This will result in the establishment of a Promotional list for classified employees who are currently employed by the district in other positions. This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled. There is currently ONE position open Fiscal Services. This is an 8 hour/day, 12 month position. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform complex accounting work involved in maintaining and reviewing financial and statistical statements and records for assigned program(s).Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to at least one year of college-level coursework in accounting and three years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance of financial or statistical records, including two years in an accounting position with a school or other public entity. Knowledge of General accounting principles and practices, including the preparation of financial statements and reports; invoice auditing. Methods, practices, and terminology used in accounting and financial record keeping. Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment including filing systems, letter and report writing. Principles of financial administration, including budgeting and reporting. Operation of a computer and assigned software. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Ability to Learn, read, understand, apply, and explain technical rules and regulations. Post data and make complex arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately. Compile and maintain accurate and complete records and reports. Perform para-professional accounting work. Plan and organize work and establish priorities. Work independently with little direction. Meet schedules and timelines. Prepare, develop, monitor, and maintain financial statements and reports. Establish and maintain professional, cooperative, and effective relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Train and guide the work of others. Examine and verify financial documents and reports. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
