Direct Support Professional - West Warwick
In-Home Behavioral Program - (HBTS)
- $27.50 an hour -
Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday 4:30 to 7:30 pm & Saturday 10 am to 2 pm
The Position:
An HBTS Direct Support Professional at Ocean State Behavioral will work in a client’s home, alongside their family, to help a child displaying behavioral needs to reduce problem behaviors while helping a client to gain control over their own behaviors in daily life.
With the help a clinically designed service plan and support from our team, you will work alongside a client's family and/or guardian(s) while providing an example in positive methods of interaction with the client and their behaviors in a healthy and constructive way to further reinforce lessons and reduce negative.
This is a part-time position where you will be responsible for adhering to professional and legal requirements and demonstrating sound judgement while providing at least the minimum standard of care according to program standards and principles of "good practice."
Requirements:
- Be at least 19 years of age
- Answer yes to AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

- I have an Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field. (i.e., psychology, counseling, child development, etc…)
- I have completed a high school or GED level of education AND have at least one year of supervised experience working with children.
- I have completed a high school or GED level of education AND have at least three years of experience working with adults who have developmental disabilities.
- I have completed at least 24 credits towards a Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services or related field
- Have a valid Driver’s License, and legal personal vehicle with current registration, insurance, and inspection.
- Provide a clean & current BCI check from RI Attorney General's Office. (The agency will run a separate DCYF clearance check on its own.)
Job Duties:
- Traveling to your client's home to work alongside a client and their family.
- Implementing a treatment plan that is developed by the child's family and the agency.
- Work alongside an individual with special needs while following a clinical treatment plan provided by the agency to help respond appropriately and instructionally to problem behaviors.
- Writing accurate daily contact notes and keeping data collection on service plan goals.
- Providing regular feedback to the agency on work with the client.

- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
- Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This position is part-time and looking for 13 hours a week.
