Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems efficiently, including Aloha POS or Micros POS, to optimize seating arrangements
- Coordinate seating plans with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth operations
- Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, assist with reservation inquiries, and handle guest questions or concerns
- Maintain organized waitlists and monitor table availability using restaurant table management systems
- Assist in managing guest flow during busy periods, ensuring prompt seating and attentive guest services
- Uphold food safety standards by following proper procedures when handling reservations and guest interactions
Experience
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly preferred
- Strong background in food service or hospitality roles demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS systems
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally via phone and in person
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, wait times, and guest billing when necessary
- Experience with POS systems used in food service settings is advantageous
- Knowledge of hotel or hospitality industry standards related to guest relations is a plus
