What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Concierge position at Ocean Rider Seahorse Farm?
The Concierge at the Seahorse Farm in Kona serves as the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a personalized, high‑quality experience from reservation to departure. This role blends hospitality excellence with knowledge of our seahorse aquaculture operations, private tours, and conservation mission. Most of the work is indoors, but you’ll also assist with the Tide Pool Docent‑led experience outdoors. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, personable, and passionate about marine life and guest service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests upon arrival and provide a warm, professional welcome.
- Manage reservations, confirmations, and guest inquiries via phone, email, and in‑person.
- Coordinate private tours, including the Seahorse Holding Experience and tide pool encounters.
- Provide guests with accurate information about the farm, our seahorses, and conservation practices.
- Assist with special requests to ensure a smooth, memorable guest experience.
- Maintain the lobby, reception, guest areas, and two bathrooms in a clean, organized, and inviting condition.
- Collaborate with tour guides, aquaculture staff, and management to ensure seamless guest services.
- Handle basic administrative tasks, such as processing payments, managing guest records, and scheduling updates.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and escalate concerns to management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospitality, concierge services, or guest relations preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, polished, and friendly demeanor.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Comfortable using reservation systems, email, and phone communications.
- Interest in marine life, aquaculture, or conservation is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain composed in a fast‑paced environment.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
- Part‑time: Tuesday and Wednesday 830-4 (no weekends required).
- Mostly indoors, with some outdoor assistance during the Tide Pool Docent experience.
- Professional appearance and high‑level customer service demeanor required.
