Ground Person Job Description:
As a Ground Person, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and landscaping of the resort to ensure a beautiful and inviting environment for our guests. This is a seasonal position starting in mid May and ending mid September.
Responsibilities:
• Perform all necessary landscaping duties, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and watering plants
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of outdoor areas, including sweeping sidewalks and picking up litter
• Assist in the maintenance of irrigation systems and repair any malfunctions
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
• Keep inventory of supplies and notify management when replacements are needed
• Help with the setup and breakdown of outdoor events and functions
• Communicate any issues or concerns regarding the grounds to management in a timely manner
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear while performing tasks
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of gardening and landscaping techniques
• Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment
• Physically able to perform outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Must have a valid driver's license
In accordance with New Jersey State Legislature (New Jersey Legislature Bill S2310 Sca (1R)) which requires private employers with ten (10) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised jobs, promotion, or transfer opportunities. This position pays $18 - $22/hr dependent on experience.
