Are you an accounting student or recent graduate looking to get real-world, hands-on experience? Ocean Mart is expanding, and we are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to be the financial backbone of our Roy, UT location! 🛒✨
Note: We are very open to structuring this role as a formal internship for current students seeking course credit and real-world bookkeeping experience! 🎓
What You’ll Be Doing:
- 💵 Daily Reconciliation: Reconcile daily sales, cash register drawers, and credit card batches to ensure total accuracy.
- 🧾 Accounts Payable & Receivable (AP/AR): Manage vendor invoices, process payments, and ensure our supplier accounts are up to date.
- 💻 Data & Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, input daily data into our accounting systems, and assist with month-end close procedures.
- 🏦 Cash Management: Oversee safe audits, prepare bank deposits, and manage petty cash.
- 📁 Administrative Support: Assist store management with basic financial reporting, filing, and back-office organization.
What We Are Looking For:
- 🎓 Education Requirement: You must possess a degree in Accounting/Finance OR be currently enrolled in an accounting degree program.
- 🌱 Experience Level: Open to entry-level candidates, students, and recent grads! Any prior retail, grocery, or administrative experience is a huge plus.
- 📊 Tech Savvy: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a solid understanding of basic accounting software principles.
- 🔍 Extreme Attention to Detail: You are the type of person who won't rest until every penny is accounted for.
- 🌍 Cultural Fit: Bilingual skills (English/Mandarin/Vietnamese/Japanese/Tagalog/Spanish) are not required but are highly preferred in our diverse environment!
