JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: DISTRIBUTION MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: DISTRIBUTION
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER
FLSA: EXEMPT

POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and oversees the daily pickup and delivery activities relating exclusively to Ocean Growers distribution centers in San Marcos. Responsible for safely and within the law, planning, coordinating and executing, in a timely manner, all activities related to pickup and delivery of Ocean Growers goods.
- Manage the cost and quality of Ocean Growers delivery, pickup, and storage of goods with high efficiency.
- Set distribution goals. Plan and manage distribution operations to achieve said goals.
· Build/Create and manage all delivery, pickup, and transfer routes.
· Manage and maximize driver utilization for delivery and pickup of goods.
· Manage team performances and provide feedback for improvements.
· Plan ahead by reviewing future orders and pickups. Must be proactive with personnel and equipment needs.
· As required, coordinate rental equipment return and pickup only after permission given from General Manager.
· Track all equipment on an ongoing basis, updating Ocean Growers documents as needed.
· Process all required documentation for delivery, pickup, rental, service, and other distribution functions within the guidelines that are in accordance with Ocean Growers policy.
· Coordinate, communicate, and plan with dock /assembly departments regarding daily orders and transfers, as well as with internal/external customers, sales reps, and vendors.
· Work with warehouse and transportation staff to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
· Inform appropriate managers and personnel concerning returns and/or rejection of product.
· Hire and train drivers per Ocean Growers policy and DOT regulations.
· Maintain a safe working environment for all company employees.
· Quarterly Drivers Safety, health, and DOT compliance meetings in San Marcos. Use outside vendors as needed.
· Coordinate driver health and or drug tests per Ocean Growers and or government requirements.
· As required, discipline drivers per Ocean Growers policy and procedure.
· Maintain clean appearance of the Ocean Growers fleet, wash all trucks and trailers weekly.
· Manifest and distribution updates must be shared twice a day with the distribution team: 9:00AM and 2:00PM.
· Support, participate, and drive in the continued development and implementation of the logistics process.
· Additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum of 3 years’ of Supervisory experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ in the Distribution Industry
Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) LAWS

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
