Do you enjoy working with young children, being creative, and helping little learners discover new things every day?

O.C.E.A.N., Inc. is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our Head Start team and help create a fun, safe, and engaging classroom for children ages 3–5 years old!

As a Teacher Assistant, you will work alongside the classroom teaching team to support children's learning, development, and daily experiences.

The Details

Program: Head Start

Children: Ages 3–5

Position: Full-Time, Program Year

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Salary: $17.11 - $18.11 per hour

This is a program-year position. Employees receive winter and spring breaks in accordance with the Head Start program calendar.

What Will You Be Doing?

Every day is a little different when you work with preschoolers! You will:

Help create fun and engaging classroom activities.

Support children's learning, development, and school-readiness skills.

Build positive and nurturing relationships with children.

Assist the Teacher with classroom routines, activities, and organization.

Help observe and support children's individual needs and interests.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the whole child.

Help create positive connections with families.

Support an inclusive classroom environment that respects each child's culture, language, abilities, and individual needs.

Assist with classroom documentation and other program requirements.

Help children build the confidence and skills they need for their next big adventure kindergarten!
