Job Summary
As an Occupational Therapy Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting occupational therapists in delivering high-quality therapeutic services. You will assist with patient care, treatment preparation, and clinic operations to help patients improve function and overall well-being. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a clinical rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with licensed occupational therapists to assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Prepare treatment areas and maintain therapy equipment to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Support and guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities with professionalism and empathy.
- Observe and document patient performance and progress during therapy sessions.
- Assist in educating patients and families on home exercise programs and therapeutic strategies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding patient progress and care plans.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Kinesiology or exercise science degree preferred but not required.
- Kinesiology degree highly recommended.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or rehabilitative setting is highly desirable.
- Spanish speaking highly recommended.
- Strong interest in occupational therapy, physical therapy, or rehabilitation services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions accurately.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment.
