Warehouse Package Handler

We are hiring dependable and hardworking Warehouse Loaders/Unloaders and Package Sorters to join a fast-paced distribution warehouse.

This is a physically demanding position primarily focused on loading and unloading trucks and trailers. Employees will also verify package information, sort packages by ZIP code, and organize packages for delivery.

Applicants must be comfortable remaining active and performing repetitive lifting throughout the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages from trucks and trailers
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and move packages throughout the shift
• Sort packages accurately by ZIP code and delivery route
• Verify recipient names, addresses, ZIP codes, and package labels
• Identify and report packages with incorrect or missing information
• Stage and organize packages in the correct designated areas
• Load delivery trucks accurately and efficiently
• Handle packages carefully to prevent damage
• Meet daily productivity and accuracy expectations
• Work closely with team members to complete assignments on time
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all warehouse and workplace safety procedures
• Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to remain standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift
• Must be comfortable performing continuous loading and unloading duties
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Strong attention to detail when verifying names, addresses, and ZIP codes
• Dependable, punctual, flexible, and reliable
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Comfortable working in hot or cold warehouse temperatures depending on the season
• Previous loading, unloading, package handling, sorting, or warehouse experience is preferred
• Gloves and work boots are strongly recommended

*STEEL TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED TO WORK - YOU WILL BE SENT HOME WITHOUT STEEL TOES Position Responsibilities Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs independently; items over 55 lbs require a team lift. Schedule will vary based on business needs, including required weekend and extended hours. Load and unload furniture from trucks with care to prevent damage and ensure proper placement. Warehouse Associates will spend approximately 80% of their time in the warehouse and up to 20% traveling to event sites, as needed. Pick, stage, and prepare products for delivery or transfer. Clean, repair, wrap, and assemble furniture to ensure it is event-ready or properly stored. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment. Tag, store, and relocate inventory accurately. Perform cycle counts to support inventory accuracy. Follow all safety guidelines, participate in safety meetings, and complete daily warm-ups. Additional Job Requirements & Details This CORT Events location supports operations across 12 states. Weekend shifts may be required based on business needs. You’ll likely be transported from the warehouse to the event center on a Cort truck and will return to the warehouse at the end of your shift. Weekend shifts may be required based on business needs. All workers must adhere to the designated rest period (6 hours) before returning to work if you book a shift without this rest period you are subject to be removed from the shift without compensation.
