What’s The Job?
The Production and Special Projects Supervisor supports the packaging department by supervising operations across first and second shifts, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met. This role also leads or contributes to special projects — such as line efficiencies and changeover reductions — designed to enhance operational performance. When managing shifts, this person will lead a team of packaging associates, oversee production workflows, and partner cross-functionally to meet company goals in quality, safety, and efficiency. The Production and Special Projects Supervisor plays a vital role in developing team members, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining a positive, team-oriented culture.

What You’ll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part
  • Supervise day-to-day packaging operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, feedback, and performance inputs.
  • Drive performance and lead projects that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Create strong cross-functional relationships to support smooth facility operations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring adherence to company standards and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor and prioritize workflow and staffing to meet production deadlines.
  • Establish and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
  • Oversee safe use of equipment and coordinate scheduled maintenance.
  • Track and report packaging performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Detect and address issues in efficiency, quality, or safety; implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with food safety and quality teams to ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure and promote food safety throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You’ve Done And Who You Are
  • 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory role within packaging or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated delivery of transformation or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sharp focus on production accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with production reporting tools a plus.
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours or weekends as required to meet production needs.
  • Ability to partner and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment; willing to roll up their sleeves and collaborate across teams.
  • Adept at coaching, motivating, and developing people to their fullest potential.
  • A relentless drive to get things done.
  • Flexible, quick to learn new processes, technology, and ways of thinking.

Physical Demands
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility (warehouse and production areas).
  • Frequent bending and squatting, including moving product.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to food ingredients and potential food allergens.
  • Work performed inside an air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Constant communication across departments and with team members.
  • You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • You must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with applicable standards.
