This role is ideal for a well-rounded Operations Manager with experience in limited-service or select-service hotels who's eager to balance operational excellence with proactive sales leadership.

Reports To: General Manager, Director of Operations, or Oaktenn, Inc. Corporate
Pay Range: $40,000 - $42,000 per Year Revision Date: 6/25
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for supporting the General Manager in the oversight and management of day-to-day hotel operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and staff supervision. The AGM leads by example, actively engages with guests and employees, and assists in implementing company policies, training programs, and service standards. In the absence of the General Manager, the AGM assumes full operational leadership of the property. This role is vital to fostering a positive work environment and ensuring the success of Oaktenn, Inc.'s hospitality vision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Report to work on time in clean and professional attire.
- Be available to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as business demands.
- Support the General Manager in overseeing all operational departments.
- Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of staff.
- Uphold company policies and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Lead daily operational meetings and assist with department head check-ins to ensure seamless communication and productivity.
- Respond to guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure that guest service standards are consistently met or exceeded in all areas of the hotel.
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas for quality control and adherence to brand and company standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and support procurement processes in collaboration with department heads.
- Assist with preparing reports related to occupancy, labor, expenses, and other performance metrics.
- Collaborate on implementing and achieving goals for Quality Assurance, revenue targets, guest satisfaction scores, and operational efficiency.
- Promote a positive and professional work environment that encourages team engagement and employee retention.

- Work closely with the General Manager and leadership to support new initiatives and property enhancements.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding guest information, company policies, and internal operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–3 years of hotel management experience, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of hotel operations, property management systems (PMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to resolve guest and employee issues with a solution-oriented, service-first mindset.
- Familiarity with basic accounting, payroll, and financial reporting is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the hotel.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Regular bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and stooping in the execution of daily responsibilities.
