Job Purpose
Provides leadership, administrative oversight, and instructional guidance to ensure compliant, high-quality educational programs for students with disabilities. Responsibilities include managing Individualized Education Program (IEP) compliance, coaching staff, developing curricula, and providing professional development.
Duties And Responsibilities
The working conditions involve a combination of office work sitting at a desk, using a computer, and interacting with colleagues and employees. Interpersonal interaction, administrative tasks, and a focus on maintaining compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions are primarily sedentary, involving sitting for extended periods while working on a computer. However, there may be occasional requirements to attend meetings or training sessions that involve standing or walking.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Compliance and Legal Oversight: Ensure all special education services, IEPs, and 504 plans comply with federal and state regulations (e.g., IDEA).
- Staff Supervision and Evaluation: Observe, mentor, and coach special education teachers and support staff (para-educators).
- Curriculum and Instruction: Develop, implement, and monitor specialized curricula and instructional strategies tailored to student needs.
- Student Support Services: Assist with referrals, evaluations, placement decisions, and behavioral support (FBA/PBSP).
- Data Management: Maintain legal records and analyze student performance data to drive decision-making.
- Drive improved student outcomes through data-informed instructional strategies.
- Reduce compliance risk through proactive monitoring and staff training.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
- Experience working with budgets and resources effectively.
- Intervention Specialist License: Required
- Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree , Master’s degree preferred
- Experience preferred:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in SPED leadership
